The juiciest and tastiest smoked meats are back in Kapitolyo. Last January 23, we were invited by Ben Donato, one of the owners of Pitmaster’s Smokehouse BBQ, for the relaunching of their restaurant after months of hiatus.

It first opened its doors to the public last May 20, 2016. Chef Raffy’s dedication to his craft elevated the “ihaw-ihaw” concept of his family. He only uses local wood and unique blend of spices to cook the best variety of smoked meats which includes pork ribs, briskets, bacon slabs, chicken, and even salmon.

Red Sangria and White Sangria

Their crew were very accommodating. They welcomed us with smiles and cocktail drinks – Red Sangria and White Sangria. I would suggest girls to try White Sangria because the Red Sangria is a little strong.

The interior is a combination of earth tones and monochrome. It complements the food which are cooked in wood-fired oven.

Let’s get started with the food.

Kick starters! These are perfect finger food while waiting for the ribs.

Chicken Skin

Chicken Skin (Php 145) - Deep fried chicken skin with chili-garlic sauce.

Pit Nachos

Pit Nachos (Grande Php 320 / Solo Php 200) - Torched white nacho chips mixed with salsa, melted cheese all topped with Pitmaster’s Smoked Pulled Pork and Kesong Puti sauce.

Pork Ribs

Part of our "MUST-TRY" list is the Pork Ribs. It is a smoked ribs that is available in four serving portion; 2 pcs Php 270, 3 pcs Php 400, Half Rack Php 800, and Full Slab Php 1600. All comes with your choice of BBQ glaze (East Capitol, Hazelnut, or Apple).

Black Angus Brisket

They also serve Black Angus Brisket. Beef lovers will surely love it because it is a 15 hour smoked Angus beef brisket. It is available in 3 servings; 150g Php 400, 300g Php 400, and 500g Php 1,300.

But if you have a big appetite, you should order their Pit Platter (2780). You will have a taste of the 5 smoked specialties of Pitmaster with 6 sides of your choice, all of the 3 house blend BBQ sauces, and a pitcher of their home brewed iced tea.

Grilled Smoked Cheese with Bacon

For us cheese lovers, our favorite is the Grilled Smoked Cheese with Bacon (Php 260). It tastes different compared to the usual grilled cheese sandwich because the cream cheese and cheddar they used are smoked.

Pitmaster's Smokehouse BBQ is situated at East Capitol Drive, Kapitolyo. This is a perfect barkada spot. It has the best value for money I know of for smoked meat, especially the ribs.
